Drum shells are taken from raw industrial materials such as oil drums.   
The hoops are cut, shaped, welded, tapered and tuned for the macabre.
 
Larger shells (some of which are stationary) 
are constructed from smokestacks and 
grain silos
Metals are *galvanized* and soaked in tuning solutions
Rims are constructed from aircraft metals
